The second type of scale CRE supports is the label printing scale such as CAS LP1000. LP-1000 label printer scale is capable of printing bar codes with price and item description, which are then placed on the shelf or on the items.

A standard C-Store point of sale system should have a POS computer and monitor, Cash Register Express POS software, cash drawer, customer display, receipt printer, POS scale, and barcode scanner. The hardware is connected to the POS computer, and they help in fast customer checkout process. The customer display is placed facing the customer, and displays the amount the customer needs to pay so they can have their money out ready. Barcode scanner reads the UPC barcode on the product and CRE quickly adds the item to the invoice. If touch screen monitor is being used rather than non-touchscreen monitor, the user can touch the button for that item on the screen to add it to invoice instead of scanning the barcode. Some other optional hardware and software can be added to the system any time in the future provided they are compatible with Cash Register Express POS Software.

Supported Weight Scales for CStore store

Cash Register Express (CRE) software supports Avery Berkel/Weigh-Tronix and CAS POS Scales. The scales come in 15lb, 30lb and 60lb capacities. Most Convenience stores use the 15lb or the 30 lb scale. It also supports label printer scales that allow you to print barcodes with item description and price, and place the label on the items you sell.

Avery Berkel POS Interface Scales

CRE supports Avery Berkel 6700, which is a series of 6720 and 6712 Cash Register Scales. The 6720 measures in pounds while the 6712 measures in ounce. It has easy to read, 6-digit LCD external display with large characters.

CAS POS Interface Scales

Cash Register Express also support CAS PD2 or PDII POS Scales. This scale measures in pounds and ounces. This means that one scale can let you switch between pound and ounce reading any time. PD-II scale features dual, easy to read, tilt display.
