The possible Sensaphone models, FGD-1104, FGD-1108, FGD-1400 & FGD-1800 monitor the above listed potential problems, and call you right away, before the problem turns into a disaster. Features include:
Temperature:
With the built-in temperature monitoring, the models let you know if the temperature deviates from what your plant needs. Temperature limits can be programmed from -20° to +150° F (-30° to 65° C). See Temperature Sensors
Humidity:
Maintain the humidity level your plants need. Connect a Humidistat sensor (FGD-0027) to your Sensaphone, and you will know the moisture content of the air almost any time. See Humidity Sensors
Power Failure & Power Surges:
With the built-in monitoring for power failures, you will know right away if your sprinklers, lights, or heaters are not operating, before your plants suffer. You can program how long a power outage lasts before you are informed. The units are equipped with backup batteries to keep them running for up to 24 hours after a power failure. The units also have a built-in surge protector. However, Phonetics advises that you protect your Sensaphone, and other electrical equipment connected to your phone line, with additional external surge protection. The Isotel Surge Protector, FGD-0023, is recommended. See Surge Protector
Security:
Attach a standard Magnetic Reed Switch (FGD-0006) or an Infrared Motion Detector (FGD-0007) to monitor windows and doors. The Sensaphone will respond to opened windows and doors. You can even connect a pre-installed security system to the Sensaphone, saving you monthly fees paid to monitoring services. The unit will call whomever you choose - yourself, your neighbor, the police, the fire department, etc. See Magnetic Reed Switch & Motion Detector
Smoke Alarm, Fire & Other Alarms:
With built-in sound monitoring, if you have a smoke detector or other alarm installed, the Sensaphone will hear it and respond. You program the level and duration of sound to which the Sensaphone responds. You can even call in and listen to sounds on location through the built-in microphone. Further, any equipment provided with a dry contact output can register an alarm condition with Sensaphone.See Smoke Detector.
