Many Businesses on Main Street Set to resemble a small-town street in the 1950's, the Atrium is where customers eagerly await Lost in the Fifties, rest, eat, socialize, or take advantage of photo opportunities. According to Scott Ford, the Information Service Manager of Starlite Theatre, Starlite needed a single point of sale system that could handle all aspects of our business, including gift shops, concessions and of course the box office. Just by standing in the Atrium, you can see what a mix that is. Complete with a 1955 Bel-Aire convertible, a 1957 Bel-Aire sedan, and a 1958 Harley-Davidson, this nostalgic Main Street scene runs in front of Judy's Gifts, the Theatre Box Office, The Starlite Diner Concessions, and Starlite Merchandise. Not wanting to run separate point of sale systems in each store, Scott notes that,
During our search for a suitable POS, Cash Register Express caught our eye because of its ability to handle sales of retail merchandise, food, tickets and services all within one program. Running CRE on a network proved to be simple to set up, and low on maintenance.

Easy to Learn for New and Veteran Employees Starlite Entertainment opened in 1999, and many of Starlite's employees have been there since day one. They installed Cash Register Express two and a half years after opening, so both the veteran employees and new hires were trained on the system. Scott recalls the ease of which the staff of Starlite learned, and some of the initial decisions he made when choosing their point of sale system. The touch-screen interface capability was a major point in our decision to use Cash Register Express. The buttons on the touch screen are easily laid out by category, and can be arranged in an order, with colors and pictures. Different registers can have their own unique layouts, so ticket sales can be the main categories at the ticket counter, but invisible to the Diner, who only sells concessions
and some memorabilia. Training new employees and retraining our veteran workers was no problem with this intuitive software.

Memories Always in Stock Starlite is a unique place, stirring memories for many of its patrons and introducing the past to others. Different times of year draws different crowds, sometimes drawing families and others groups of couples and long-time friends. Don, the merchandising manager, finds the reports in Cash Register Express useful so he can always stock the merchandise correctly. As he uses CRE to equip show-goers with a Lost in the Fifties DVD, and vintage ball cap, he comments that, We always like to make sure our guests bring some memories home with them. I can use the CRE reports to let me know what type of merchandise sells best at what time of year, helping me make sure we always have the right type of memorabilia on the shelves. Cash Register Express has dozens of reports, allowing users to generate numerous figures
on sales and inventory levels just by selecting the few pieces of criteria they'd like to filter on. CRE has proven to be easy to use, and flexible in its reporting and data retrieval capabilities.
