The PowerScan PM8000 is the new Datalogic line of rugged industrial handheld mobile wireless area imager barcode reader and data collection systems. The PowerScan PM8500 cordless scanner offers omnidirectional reading of 1D and 2D barcodes coupled with its unlimited mobility made possible by the Datalogic STAR Cordless System.
The scanner system features a high-resolution Mega-Pixel imaging sensor that has an outstanding performance in industrial applications. Power Scan PM8500 comes in three models. The Standard Range model is for reading medium resolution barcodes, white the High Density model is for reading high resolution codes. The Wide Angle model features a wider field of view which allows it to capture larger and longer codes.
PM8500 has the Datalogic STAR Cordless System for narrow band radio communications that provides the key to increased productivity and flexibility of the scanner. This feature offers the device its scalable solutions from simple point to point applications to networking capabilities. Its optional display with a 3-key keypad provides the user useful information such as time and battery status, and enables interaction with the host. The included high capacity Li-Ion battery can be replaced in few seconds and can be charged on the cradle or on a separate multi-battery charger.
The imager has 3 Green Lights for superior good read feedback directly on the code, and dual Good Read LEDs on the top and back of the cap adds increased visibility at any angle. The PM-8500 imager's mechanics have been designed and tested to withstand extreme and harsh environmental conditions while maintaining consistent reading capability without degrading performance and reliability. Its lightweight and well balanced, ergonomic enclosure, ensures optimal user comfort during operation. It also has a built-in metal tether hook for suspended applications which ensures increased productivity.
